This morning I was meditating on the life of Moses that I felt there’s something in there to share with you.
Moses knew that God had chosen him to be the deliverer of the Hebrews from Pharaoh’s whiplash but as time happened, he found himself exiled from Egypt because he killed an Egyptian who as trying to hurt a Jew.
You know the story, Pharaoh was after him and he fled to the land of the Midianites. He would stay there another 40 years tending the flock of his father-in-law. I paused to think of it. He knew God called him to deliver his people. He knew he was the savior of the Jews but events have left him at the backside of the desert. Instead of delivering people, he was stuck with delivering flocks and animals. What must have gone thru his mind daily as he tended the flock? What must have transpired in his mind when month after month, year after year, God never mentioned delivering his people anymore. In fact God was not even saying anything. As far as he was concerned, all that was happening was that he was getting older. But God had a plan.
Where are you in your life today? Are you like Moses who because of some mistake, have found yourself in an unfamiliar place? Are you in a place where instead of making progress, you feel you are stalling and the work God told you you would do for him is gradually looking like it would remain a dream? This was Moses’ experience.
Well, for Moses one day, God said it was time! He appeared to him in a burning bush. The Bible says the leaves were not consumed but the tree was ablaze. That burning bush was a little like Moses’ life. Years were passing, times were happening but God’s purpose and plan for his life was unflinching, unchanging. Then God then spoke to him in the midst of the fire. In the midst of the challenge, God said; “Hey Moses, I did not forget you; I was only working out my will and purpose in you”.
Are you wondering if God has forgotten you? Are you wondering if this ailment will ever go away? Are you wondering if your faith is still working? Are you wondering if God is still aware of your situation… Perhaps your case is even worse than I have described. Whatever be the case, God has not changed. The Bible says; Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus promised never to leave or forsake us. He said to the Apostle Paul, my grace is sufficient for you. It really doesn’t matter how terrible the situation appears, God has not abandoned you. When it looks like the raging storms will never end, remember the words he spoke to Joshua; be strong and very courageous; I will never leave nor forsake you. To Jacob, he said; “And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of”.
Strengthen your faith and belief in the word of God. Be convinced of the character of his personality. He has not failed anyone before now and He will not fail you. Keep the word of faith on your lips and that conviction in your heart; you will come out of this a victor.
God bless you.
