Commands of Jesus – 1 Timothy 2 Timothy Titus Philemon with Simple Explanation

1 Timothy 1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Don’t teach other doctrine other than the New Testament, the commands of Jesus in the New Testament. Know the entire Bible very well so you can avoid making up another erroneous man-made doctrine a new denomination the comes short of the complete Word of God.
1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. Don’t give heed to Fables. Don’t teach myths. Don’t teach things that bring about speculation. Rather teach the administration, management of household affairs of the things God.
1 Timothy 1:5-7 5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Understand that the goal of the commandments is love. The goal of The commandments of Jesus of in the New Testament is love out of a pure heart with a good conscience and a sincere faith.  Purify your heart. Have your heart purified. The commandments of Jesus purify you. Work with the Lord to get your heart purified. Make your conscience good. Repent out of all your sins. Stop all of your wrongdoings. Make the wrongs right where you can. Work with the Lord on clearing your conscience. Have a faith that is sincere. Have the faith of a child. Have a genuine faith. Have a pure faith. Ask the Lord to increase your faith.
1 Timothy 1:18-19 18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

War a good Warfare.  Whether you knew it or not you are in the middle of a spiritual war. The primary battle has become the war over the souls of men. The other battle is amongst yourself where you battle the dark side to conquer it choosing God’s ways, which are the commands of the New Testament instead. Hold your faith. Don’t doubt or waiver in it. Don’t doubt and waiver from what you read in the Bible even though the masses of people around you are disobeying the Bible. Keep a good conscience. Do not sin. A good conscience. Repent
1 Timothy 2:1-4 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Pray for, intercede for all men. Pray for what you need. Give thanks through prayer. Pray these things in behalf of all men, women. Pray for, intercede, give prayers of thanks for all kings and all that are in authority.  Pray for those in authority so that we may be able to live a peaceful life in goodness and honesty while not being disrupted through error and corruption.Pray for all men and women for their salvation. Pray for all men and women that they would repent of their sins and choose God, obey God, obey Jesus’ commands of the New Testament.
1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Lift up holy hands and pray. Without Anger. Pray without doubting.
1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; Women wear modest clothes. Women wear respectable clothes. Don’t dress to seduce, to trick men. Don’t dress to impress with fancy hair, fancy clothing or a lavish jewelry.
1 Timothy 2:10 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Women dress, present yourself as is fitting for one who fears, reverences God.  Women show your fear of God, reverence for God through good works, through Jesus commands. Women can show great beauty by professing the fear of God through good works. Women achieve great Beauty and attraction by and through obedience of Jesus’ commands.
1 Timothy 2:11 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. Women learn in silence with submissiveness.
1 Timothy 2:12-14 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Women don’t teach the Word of God. Women don’t try to take authority over a man. Women be in silence.  Do not teach over the man. Understand that women are more easily deceived like Eve.  Understand deception occurs emotions that are not controlled.
1 Timothy 2:15 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. Women, abide in faith. Women, abide in love. Women, be holy. Women, be sober.
1 Timothy 3:1-7 1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Because you desire to be a leader in the congregation you desire a good thing and you must obey the following commands: Be blameless. Be the husband of one wife. Be vigilant. Sober. Be of good Behavior. Be given to hospitality. Be ready and able to teach. Don’t be a drinker. Don’t be a striker or violent. Don’t be greedy for earthly money. Be patient. Manage your own home well. Be experienced and knowledgeable in the things of the Lord having a maturity in the Lord, knowing and understanding the commands of Jesus in the New Testament. Understand that if you are new in the faith you are very susceptible to error particular through pride, the way the devil fell. Have a good testimony in and from society.
1 Timothy 3:8-13 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Deacons: Be serious. Don’t be deceitful. Don’t drink or drink very little. Don’t be greedy for Earthly money. Hold the mystery of the Faith with a good conscience. Make sure your conscience is not defiled. Clear your conscience. Work with the Lord on getting your conscience clear. Be tested first. Serve blamelessly. Be a husband of one wife. Rule your own children in your own household well. Use the office of the deacon well to purchase yourself a good degree. Obtain the Great boldness in faith in Jesus. Wives of Deacons: Be serious. Don’t slander. Be sober. Be faithful in all things.
1 Timothy 4:1-3 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Don’t depart from the faith. Don’t give heed to seducing spirits. Don’t listen to doctrines of devils. Obey Jesus’ commands of the New Testament. Don’t listen to those speaking Lies and hypocrisy. Don’t listen to hypocrites. Don’t listen to liars. Don’t listen to those who have their conscience seared. Don’t listen to those who have made up man-made doctrines fall short of the entire Bible. Beware of those who make up rules that sound religious but deny Jesus. Don’t forbid to marry. Don’t command others to abstain from meals.
1 Timothy 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things,thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. Be a good minister of Jesus by putting brothers and Sisters in Christ in remembrance of the commands Jesus of the New Testament. Preach and obey the doctrine of Christ which is the commands of Jesus in the New Testament.
1 Timothy 4:7-9 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

Train yourself to Godliness.  Refuse to accept and listen to unscriptural, Godless worldly fables.
1 Timothy 4:10 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. Trust the Living God who is the Savior of all men. Obey God and accept the labor that goes along with obeying Jesus as Lord. Accept the reproach that can go along with obeying Jesus.  Obey God and understand you must obey His commands of the New Testament.
1 Timothy 4:11-12 11 These things command and teach.

12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Teach people to trust the Living God who is their Savior. Give people understanding in regards to what comes along with obeying God in terms of the labor required and the reproach suffered by living in the sinful world. Don’t let anyone despise your youth. Let no one judge you. Be an example to believers. Be an example in your speech. Be an example and your conversation. Be an example of a follower of Christ in your love. Be an example of a follower of Christ in your spirit. An example of a follower of Christ in your faith. Be an example of a follower of Christ in your purity. Be an example of what a follower of Christ should be. Show others what a follower of Christ should be by obeying the commands of Jesus in the New Testament.
1 Timothy 4:13 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Read the scriptures regularly. Read the scriptures aloud to others. Read the scriptures. Give others encouragement in the scriptures.  Give teaching of the scriptures.
1 Timothy 4:14 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Don’t neglect your gifts.  Find your natural gifts and talents God has given you. Find your spiritual gifts God has given you. Use your gifts. Use your gifts to their fullest potential.
1 Timothy 4:15 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Meditate on the commands of Jesus of the New Testament so that you will be profitable and all will be able to see that you are profitable. Be an example for success in Christ to others. Obey the commands of Jesus so you can become the fourth seed that bears fruit 30, or 100 fold….
1 Timothy 4:16 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. Take heed on to the commands of Jesus of the New Testament.  Continue in Jesus’ commands. Continue doing Jesus’ commands.  By learning, understanding and turning Jesus’ commands of the New Testament into a habit you will save yourself and those that listen to you.
1 Timothy 5:1-2 1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

Don’t rebuke an elder but treat him like a father. Treat those men who are not and elder as a brother.  Treat older women as mothers. Treat those women who are not elders as sisters, with purity. Don’t treat Elders harshly.  Treat everyone in love and care.
1 Timothy 5:3 Honour widows that are widows indeed. Honor widows.
1 Timothy 5:4 But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God. Children, grandchildren take care of your windowed mother.
1 Timothy 5:5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. If windowed and alone then spend your time in prayer, supplications night and day.  Life is short so do all you can for God, to get to know God and to help others get to know God. Knowing God, the Father and Son is salvation.  Wrath is for those who don’t know God, who didn’t spend their lives on earth getting to know God.
1 Timothy 5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. If a window don’t live in pleasure or you will become dead.
1 Timothy 5:7 And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless. Give these commands of 1 Timothy 5:1-6 so people may obey and be blameless.
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. Provide for your own household.
1 Timothy 5:9-10 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man.

10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Take only these widows onto the church:  The window needs to be over 60. The Widow needs to be reported for her good works – if she brought up children,, washed the Saints feet, healthy did and diligently followed every good work.
1 Timothy 5:11-15 11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;

12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

Don’t take in the younger widows to the church. Don’t get it sexual trouble. Don’t be idle. Don’t be a gossip. Don’t be a meddler in others affairs. Young widows should get married again, have children and take charge of their homes.
1 Timothy 5:16 16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed. Believers that have widows in the family take care of them and don’t burden the church.
1 Timothy 5:17-18 17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

That leaders in the church are to be given double honor especially those working hard at communicating the word and teaching. Don’t muzzle an ox when it is treading the grain.  Workers deserve their wages so give them their wages.
1 Timothy 5:19-20 19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Don’t listen to an accusation against an elder unless it has the support of two or three witnesses.  Rebuke those who sin in front of everyone so everyone may fear ((a) fear, terror, alarm, (b) the object or cause of fear, (c) reverence, respect. Strong’s 5401). Don’t sin.  Obey Jesus’ commands.
1 Timothy 5:21 21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament.   Don’t prefer one before another. Don’t show favoritism. Treat all brothers as equal.  Don’t do anything out of favoritism. Don’t do anything to please man.
1 Timothy 5:22 22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure. Don’t rush to lay hands on anyone. Don’t rush into laying hands on anyone to baptize them in the God the Holy Spirit. Don’t sin. Don’t take on anyone sin. Keep yourself pure. Make sure people you come in contact with are pure. Don’t be defiled by others dirty spirits. Don’t pick up bad spirits, attitudes, beliefs, mind states, ideas from others nor let them infect you.
1 Timothy 5:24 24 Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Don’t sin.  Expose your sin.  Have the Lord help expose your sin to you so you can confess and repent from that sin in the Name of Jesus.
1 Timothy 5:2 25 Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. Keep doing good works in secret or in the open.
1 Timothy 6:1 1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. Servants honor your masters.  Employees honor your boss.  Understand that your disobedience to Jesus commands of the New Testament causes people to blaspheme and doubt.
1 Timothy 6:2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. Don’t despise your masters who are fellow believers.  Don’t despise your bosses who are fellow believers. Serve your masters well.  Treat them as brothers in the Lord.

1 Timothy 6:3-5

3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament. Don’t be proud.  Don’t guess about things of the Lord, know the Word well and obey. Don’t create controversies.  Don’t create controversies in arguments over your man made doctrines thinking you know it all when you simply just don’t know the Bible well. Don’t cause problems over words or what you assume they mean.  Don’t be jealous. Don’t cause dissensions. Don’t insult. Don’t have evil suspicions. Don’t argue and keep arguing. Don’t deprive the truth. Don’t make up your man made doctrines that fall short of the Word of God. Don’t make up man-made doctrines for the sake of getting rich in worldly wealth instead of getting rich with eternal wealth. Withdraw yourself from people who these things.

1 Timothy 6:6-7

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

Be godly with contentment for great gain. Be content. Be godly. Don’t be greedy for gain of earthly wealth.
1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. Be content if you have food and clothing.
1 Timothy 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. Don’t seek to become rich in worldly wealth. Don’t seek to become rich for the sake of building yourself up in this world.  Don’t build yourself up in this world for pride, vanity,  or pleasure. Instead get rich eternally. Trade your earthly money money in for gold tried in the fire so you become eternally rich.
1 Timothy 6:10 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Don’t love filthy lucre.  Don’t love the money of this world. Don’t build yourself up in this world. Don’t pursue the maximization of the flesh. Don’t pursue the  maximization of pleasure in the flesh. Don’t pursue the maximization of your vanity in this world. Build yourself up for the Kingdom. Build up the Kingdom of God. Put the Kingdom of God first and God’s righteousness first. Build up eternal wealth for where your wealth is, is where your heart will be.
1 Timothy 6:11 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Pursue righteousness. Pursue godliness. Pursue Faith. Pursue love. Pursue patience. Pursue meekness.
1 Timothy 6:12 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Fight the good fight.  Conquer Earth for the Kingdom, spiritually. Seize eternal life.  Take Heaven by force, whereas use force against the enemy who is warring for your soul.  You’ve found your pearl now go detach yourself from pursuing this world and go for the Kingdom, go for getting rich eternally.  Profess a good profession of faith before many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:14-16

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Keep the commands of Jesus of the New Testament. Keep the command of fight the good fight and seize eternal life without error.  Don’t fool around with this world for a second, always live as a citizen of Heaven.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Command the rich in this world not to be high minded, in pride, thinking they are elite.  Command the rich of this world not to trust in worldly wealth.  Command the rich of this world to trust in God.  Put your trust fully in God not in money. Trust that God will provide.   Do good works with your money, investing into the Kingdom thereby transforming earthly money into eternal gold tried by the fire.  Be ready to give.  Be willing to share.

1 Timothy 6:20-21

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Keep the commands of Jesus of the New Testament.  Avoid profane, secular, unspiritual, godless, worldly, nonsense blabberings. Don’t speak idle words that are not productive for the Kingdom.  Avoid those who think themselves wise in this world with their vain godless, clueless, blabberings and arguments. Don’t get caught up in what the world calls wisdom, knowledge, “science”, set and designed to trick you away from the living God.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Don’t be a coward.  Understand that God has not given us a spirit of cowardice. Be powerful. Understand that God gave us a spirit of power.  Walk in love.  Understand that God gave us a spirit of love.  Be of sound mind.  Understand that God gave us a spirit of sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Don’t be ashamed of the Gospel.  Don’t be ashamed of the testimony of the Lord.  Don’t feel ashamed for Paul for he is doing a great thing suffering for the Lord showing the Lord how much he loves Him.  Suffer for the sake of the Gospel.  Suffer out this world and its enticements. Don’t get enticed. Don’t sin.  Suffer out the emotional turmoil and evil of this world. Do not return evil for evil; turn the other cheek. Don’t go for junk go for the best.  Choose complete joy,  experience the highest of highs, live a rich abundant life in, with and through the Lord instead.  Don’t even look at the world except to save it.
2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Do your holy calling. Follow Jesus and let Him direct your life.  Do not direct your own life.  Let the Lord work through you.  Soften up and open up your heart to Jesus and let Him in understanding that He won’t hurt you He will help you.
2 Timothy 1:11-12 11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Suffer out the world. Do a “detox” of the world cleansing out of your soul.  “Uninstall” the commands of this world which are the commands of Satan.  Sweat out the world; detoxify.  Don’t look to the world for acceptance or approval for you will find no such thing. Turn to the Lord, love Him and hang out with Him instead.  And love the brothers and sisters in Christ and hang out with them also.  Don’t be ashamed of the Lord Jesus.  Don’t be ashamed of His Word.
2 Timothy 1:13-14 13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

Keep the commands of Jesus of the New Testament.  Keep the commands of Jesus of the New Testament in faith.  Keep the commands of Jesus of the New Testament in love.  Be persuaded that the Holy Spirit Who dwells in us is able to keep us until the end so that we may be saved.
2 Timothy 2:1 1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Be strong in the grace, favor, kindness of Jesus. Do this by keeping the commands of Jesus of the New Testament.
2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Teach the commands of Jesus of the New Testament to faithful men who will be able to teach others.
2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Endure hardness as a good soldier.  If you have to deal with hardness then deal with it in, through and for Christ knowing that all things work for good for you because you love God.   Understand God works things so you can become more excellent and do more and more awesome things with Him thereby working for your eternal success and eternal wealth.  So don’t harden yourself let God work on you and change you. Be open to Him.  Work with God. Understand tough experiences are also relationship builders with God.
2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. Don’t get entangled with the affairs of this life!  Don’t get entangled in pursuing yourself in this world.  Don’t go for maximizing your pleasure in this world.  Don’t go for building up your fame and fortune in this world.  Go for building up your fame and fortune for eternity instead!  Focus on pleasing the Lord.
2 Timothy 2:5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. Compete according to the rules.  Obey the commands of Jesus of the New Testament. Life is a race.  Life is an athletic event.  Life is a battle in the arena.  Life is war, a spiritual war.
2 Timothy 2:6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. Understand that if you work hard for the Kingdom you will be the first partaker of the fruits. The farmer who does the hard work must be the first to partake of the harvest. Get out there and bear fruit for the Kingdom!  Get out there and get eternally rich!
2 Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. Understand what Paul is saying regarding to go for the reward, to play life to win, that life on Earth in the flesh is an arena for you to overcome to victory in obedience and choosing to Love the Lord above all distracting enticements. Play the game of life to become an eternal winner.

2 Timothy 2:8-9

8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

Remember that Jesus was raised from the dead Who is of the seed of David.  Understand that Gospel is Jesus raised from the dead after becoming a sacrifice for our sins. Understand that sufferings will likely come with trying to obtain the victory in this life obeying Jesus commands and Jesus commands for you personally. Understand there is suffering so you don’t get thrown off by it later if it happens.    Suffer for the sake the Gospel. Suffer out the world for the sake of the Gospel.
2 Timothy 2:10 10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Endure all things for the present and future believer so they maybe saved.  Understand there are souls on the line and keep the perspective of not wasting a minute of life on this earth because someone’s eternity may depend on you.  Share the Gospel and be an obedient example that bears fruit by obeying the commands of Jesus from the New Testament as a testimony.
2 Timothy 2:11 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: Be dead to yourself.  Let Jesus take over your life through the Holy Spirit.  Have a spirit directed life.  Die to self and obey Jesus. Die to your flesh live in the spirit.  Follow Jesus’ commands of the New Testament and in real time and Jesus your Lord of life directs you in real time.  The obedient life is the abundant life; it is the fruitful life; it is the eternally successful life so obey Jesus. Don’t try to save your life for yourself in this world for those who try to save their life will lose it.  Those who try do it their own way will lose their life.
2 Timothy 2:12 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: Suffer with Christ.  Suffer out this world and obey Jesus instead.  Choose God over this world for you show God much love by taking on His yoke now given by Jesus.  Stop sinning and be holy.  Don’t deny Jesus in any way shape or form.  Be excellent in Christ and don’t try to ‘get by’ or do the bare minimum thinking you’ll just coast right on in to Heaven.  Obey Jesus commands !
2 Timothy 2:13 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. Believe.  Believe on Jesus.  Believe Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:14 14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Don’t strive about unprofitable words, words that are unprofitable to God and the Kingdom.  Speak no idle words ever again.  All words you say should be profitable for the Kingdom.  Don’t argue.  Don’t lie.  Don’t speak nonsense.  Don’t exaggerate. Don’t criticize.  Don’t speak evil.  Don’t curse. Don’t gossip.  Don’t speak vanity.  Don’t speak negatively about people. Don’t judge others qualifying them as good or bad.
2 Timothy 2:15 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Study the scriptures. Mediate on God’s Word.  Ask the Lord your Teacher what things mean and how to do them of His Word, His commands. Learn the entire Bible.  Don’t cut out parts of the Bible to fit your easier way denomination.  Obey, get better and master Jesus commands of the New Testament.

2 Timothy 2:16-18

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

Avoid, shun, empty disputing, worthless babble, nonsense talk for in increases into more ungodliness. Avoid vain babblings because it will eat at  you like a canker. Avoid vain babblings, empty disputing, nonsense talk for it can lead you into error, severe error that can even overthrow the faith of some.
2 Timothy 2:19 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Depart from sin, injustice, unrighteousness, hurt, iniquity. Know the Word.  Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament, memorizing them into your soul turning Jesus commands into your habits, your “operations manual” for life. Become a citizen of Heaven now., Act like one now by obeying Jesus commands of the New Testament.

2 Timothy 2:20-21

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Purge your self from sin.  Get rid of sin. Uninstall all sin beliefs that this or that sin is ok or good to do.  Know what the sins of the Bible are, get organize; start with the list of 666 sins on our site.
2 Timothy 2:22 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Flee from youthful lists. Run from lust. Get away from lust fast before it hooks you into sin.  Follow Jesus commands of the New Testament. Do righteousness.  Do love. Do peace.  Do all of these with all that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2:23 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. Avoid foolish speculations.  Avoid questions that are looking for debate over which answers can only be speculative since not enough information is available. Avoid questions and debates over topics of opinion or beliefs in concepts that are not yet defined by the Word.  Avoid arguments.  Avoid strife. Avoid encouraging those who are trying to create debates, arguments and strife.
2 Timothy 2:24 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, Don’t quarrel. Don’t argue.  Be gentle. Be patient.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Be meek while instructing others. Be meek and gentle while instructing, disciplining others who oppose and maybe God will give them the knowledge of the truth.  If we are harsh and argue back then one tends to close up and not hear, so be meek, gentle while you instruct people.  Give people a chance to recover themselves out of the snare of the devil.
2 Timothy 3:

2 Timothy 3:1-5

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Know that in the last days perilous times shall come. Be aware that:  Men shall be lovers of themselves.  They shall be greedy.  They shall be arrogant boasters. They shall be blasphemers.  They shall be disobedient to parents. They shall be unthankful.  They shall be unholy.  They shall be unable to be loving.  They shall be trucebreakers.  They shall be false accusers. They shall be without self-control.  They shall be savage.  They shall be haters of good. They shall be traitors.  They shall be reckless.  They shall be puffed up. They shall be lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. They shall have a form of godliness while denying the power. They shall have a form of Christian religion by deny Jesus as Lord because they want to be lord, and they want to be their own lords. Turn away from these people!  Understand these behavior patters, be forewarned so you don’t get seduced into them because “everyone else is doing it”.Understand they will not know, know of or know about the commands of Jesus of the New Testament or will flat out deny them through their man made doctrines.

2 Timothy 3:6

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

Don’t be an adulterer.  Understand it’s not ok to be an adulterer. Understand that just because everyone else is doing it it is not ok, it is sin. Don’t be led away by divers lusts.  Know that warnings like this are given because at the time of this sinfulness in society it will seem the norm even in the “church”.  Understand that powerful seductive and deceiving spiritual forces can make a strong impact on you if you are not aware of the possibility beforehand.

2 Timothy 3:7

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Don’t be ever learning and not able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Soften your heart and don’t harden your heart and repent of your sins.  Open the door of your heart to Jesus; do not fear.  Obey Jesus commands and He and the Father’s love will abide in you.
2 Timothy 3:8-9 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.

Don’t resist the truth.  Repent.  Obey Jesus’ commands. Open up and let the Light shine in and expose your sin so you can identify it and repent of it. Uncorrupt your mind.  Uninstall the commands of Satan from your mind.

2 Timothy 3:10-11

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

Be like Paul:  endure persecution.  obey Jesus commands for your life.  Fulfill your destiny God has written for you before you were born.   Have faith.  Have long-suffering; do not sin.  Suffer out this world and it’s temptations and it’s evils.  Don’t return evil for evil. Turn the other cheek.  Have love.  Have patience.
2 Timothy 3:12 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Understand that all that will live a godly life in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
2 Timothy 3:13 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. Be aware that evil men and seducers will get worse and worse deceiving and being deceived.

2 Timothy 3:14-17

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Continue in the commands of Jesus of the New Testament.  Continue in the holy scriptures that will give you the wisdom that leads to salvation in Jesus that you receive by faith. Do what the Bible says to do and not do regarding salvation into Heaven. Believe the Bible and do what God says in His words. Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament so you may become perfect, holy and fruitful to God and the Kingdom.
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. Preach the word. Be ready at all times to preach the Word. Know the Word so you can teach others at the spur of the moment. Know the word so you can correct, rebuke and encourage with much patience and teaching.  Know the Word so you can teach correct doctrine, the doctrine of Christ, and not get confused or deceived by man made doctrine variations of the Word.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Understand that there will be a time when people will not endure sound doctrine but through their lusts will promote and follow teachers that preach man made, “easier way” doctrines. Understand that there will be a time when people will reject Christ’s doctrines and make up their own easier way to ‘fit with the times’.  So don’t be deceived into watering down the doctrine of Christ because “everyone else is doing it” – you stick with the doctrine of Jesus which includes the commands of Jesus of the New Testament.
2 Timothy 4:5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. So watch out.  Watch yourself and check you have not been deceived, checking with the scriptures. Endure afflictions. Suffer out this world for the Word’s sake.  Win souls; go out and witness.  Do everything God requires.

Titus

Titus
5
 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Get things fixed that are wanting, lacking in your life, in your walk with Christ or in you ministry. For elders need to: Be blameless. Be a husband of one wife. Have believing children that are not unruly or spiritually wasteful, wild, sexually promiscuous, wantonness.A bishop, an overseer:  Be blameless. Be a servant of God. Don’t be self-willed. Don’t be quick-tempered. Don’t be a drinker. Don’t be a lover of worldly money.

Be a lover of hospitality. Be one who loves people who are good. Be sober.  Be just.  Be holy.  Be temperate. Obey the commands of Jesus in the New Testament and be faithful to them.  Know the Word.  Be a doer of the Word.

Titus 1:10-11

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Don’t be unruly.  Don’t be a vain talker.  Don’t be a deceiver.  Know the Word and be a doer of what the Word says.  Don’t be a legalist or religionist who uses rules to push away God personally, who makes someone or something else their Lord instead of Jesus.  Stop the mouths of these people who preach other man made doctrines.  Don’t teach things that you should not. Do not teach error. Don’t teach for worldly money’s sake.  Don’t teach error, easy gospels, easier ways, legalistic ways, or other ways for worldly money’s sake.

Titus

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Rebuke liars, evil beasts and lazy gluttons sharply for their sakes that they may be sound in the faith, in the doctrine of Christ.

Titus

15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Be pure. Don’t be defiled. Don’t be one who professes they know God but in works deny Him. Don’t be one who says they believe in Jesus but do not believe Him. who don’t Believe Jesus when He says something.  Don’t be one who does not know and does not do Jesus commands of the New Testament. Don’t be one who says your ‘future sins are automatically forgiven therefore it doesn’t matter what you do’ – for this passage is for you.  Understand that unless you obey Jesus commands of the New Testament you cannot bear fruit that counts.

Titus 2:1

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Speak what behavior goes along with sound teaching.

Titus 2:2

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

Older men:  be sober. Be serious. Be self controlled. The sound in your faith. Be sound in love.  Be sound in patience.
Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; Older women:  Be holy.  Don’t be a false accuser or slander.  Don’t be enslaved to wine. Be teachers of good things.

Titus 2:4-5

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Older women teach the younger women. Young women be lovers of your husband. Love your children. Be self-controlled. Be pure. Beekeepers at home. Be kind. The subject to your own husbands.  Do these things so the word of God is not maligned.

Titus 2:6-8

6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Young man be sober minded, have self-control. Do good works. Have a pattern, a habit of good works.  Have  correctness in your doctrine. Have speech that cannot be condemned or reproached. Be so that those who are nonbelievers cannot say any evil thing about you.

Titus 2:9-10

9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

Servants be subject to your masters. Don’t talk back to your masters. Don’t speak in opposition or contradict your master.  Employees be subject to your employer, your boss. Don’t talk back to your boss. Don’t speak in opposition or contradict your boss. Don’t rob your master, your boss.  Do everything in good faith. Do these things so the doctrine of God our Savior will be appealing.

Titus 2:11-15

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Deny ungodliness. Deny worldly lust. Put on the yoke of Christ.  Obey Jesus’ commands of the New Testament. Live severally. Live righteously. Live godly.Look for the blessed hope which is the up here enough the great God and Savior, Jesus Christ who gave himself for us to redeem us from sin and purify himself people zealous for good works.  Be holy. Don’t sin. Do good works. Be zealous for good works.  Believe Jesus. Believe what Jesus says. Do what Jesus says. Love Jesus.

Titus 3:1-2

1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

The subject to rulers and authorities.  The obedient to religion authorities. Be ready to do any and every good work.  Don’t speak evil of any man.  Don’t be violent. Be meek to all.

Titus 3:8

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Maintain good works.  Believe God.  Believe Jesus’ commands of the New Testament.
Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. Avoid controversies.  Avoid controversy over genealogies. Avoid quarrels and strife about the Torah.

Titus 3:10-11

10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

One who is a faction maker, a sect maker reject after the first and second warning.  Know that one who creates factions, new sects,  is corrupted and is sinning and is self condemned.  Don’t be a faction maker. Don’t start new denominations. Don’t break up churches.  Get back to the doctrine of Christ which is the complete Bible, the complete New Testament, without having extracted versus while ignoring the rest. Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament.
Titus 3:14 14 And let our’s also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. Maintain good works. Be fruitful.  Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament.

Philemon

Philemon:15-16

15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

Be open minded to the Lord and His work within some people.  Love your brothers and sisters in Christ and don’t lord over them. Have mercy.
