Commands of Jesus – Jude with Simple Explanation

JUDE
Jude 1:3

Beloved,
when I gave all diligence to write unto you
of the common salvation, it was needful for
me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye
should earnestly contend for the faith which
was once delivered unto the saints.

Earnestly contend for the faith as was first delivered to the saints.  Strongly against any opposition or difficulties, strive for the original faith.  Strive to hear, understand and do the commands of Jesus in the New Testament  Strive to see the Word of God obeyed. Strive to see the commands of Jesus in the New Testament are obeyed.  Struggle against and defeat “new ideas” “new twists”, new man made easier way doctrines, new man made religious traps designed to take the place of Jesus as Lord.  Struggle against new doctrines that try to convince you that you are your own Lord and can do whatever you want.  Strive to make sure that the original Word of God is up held and not altered, filtered or twisted by some new doctrine or denomination of the day.
Jude 1:4
For
there are certain men crept in unawares, who
were before of old ordained to this
condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace
of our God into lasciviousness, and denying
the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Do not deny our only master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Do not turn the grace of God into (outrageous conduct, conduct shocking to public decency, a wanton violence, wantonness, lewdness – Strong’s 776).  Do not deny Jesus by replacing Him with your own doctrines and rules. Do not deny Jesus as Lord by denying Jesus’ Words, His Commands, His real time directing of your life.  Make Jesus your Lord by doing what He says for how can you call Jesus Lord without doing what He says to do?
Jude 1:8

Likewise
also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh,
despise dominion, and speak evil of
dignities.

Don’ t be a filthy dreamer.  Don’t defile the flesh. Don’t despise authority.  Don’t speak evil of dignities, glorious ones, angelic beings. Don’t speak evil of angelic beings of any sort, position or authority.  Don’t judge.  Don’t criticize. Don’t gossip.  Don’t do railing accusations.
Jude 1:9

Yet
Michael the archangel, when contending with
the devil he disputed about the body of
Moses, durst not bring against him a railing
accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Don’t speak railing accusations against angelic beings for even Michael the archangel would not in a seemingly intense argument.  But rather say something like “the Lord rebuke you” as Michael did.  Don’t call angelic beings names.  Obey Jesus commands; don’t sin.
Jude 1:

10 But
these speak evil of those things which they
know not: but what they know naturally, as
brute beasts, in those things they corrupt
themselves.

Don’t speak evil of things that you don’t know about. Don’t deal with the spiritual realm through your flesh.
Jude 1:11

11
Woe
unto them! for they have gone in the way of
Cain, and ran greedily after the error of
Balaam for reward, and perished in the
gainsaying of Core.

Don’t go the way of Cain.  Don’t go greedily after the error of Balaam for reward.
Jude 1:12-13

12
These
are spots in your feasts of charity, when
they feast with you, feeding themselves
without fear: clouds they are without water,
carried about of winds; trees whose fruit
withereth, without fruit, twice dead,
plucked up by the roots;

13
Raging
waves of the sea, foaming out their own
shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved
the blackness of darkness for ever.

Don’t sin, repent out of all sin.  Become clean before fellowshipping with other genuine believers. Do not sin after you have become born again.  Know and do these commands of Jesus of the New Testament so you may become fruitful, productive clouds with water, well rooted and alive in Christ. Don’t continue on in a sin state, repent; purify yourself.  You make the effort to seek out your sin while working with the Lord.  Find that sin, find the start of that sin and admit it was and is wrong; confess that sin and restore your relationship with God.  When you sin you break one of God’s rules for relationship, you offend Him – so apologize and make it right. Repent in the Name of Jesus to have that sin covered under the blood of Jesus.

Don’t be in sin. Don’t be unfruitful.  Avoid the blackness of darkness forever.

Jude 1:14-15

14 And Enoch also, the
seventh from Adam, prophesied of these,
saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten
thousands of his saints,

15 To execute judgment upon
all, and to convince all that are ungodly
among them of all their ungodly deeds which
they have ungodly committed, and of all
their hard speeches which ungodly sinners
have spoken against him.

Be a saint. Don’t do ungodly deeds.  Don’t do hard speeches against God.
Jude 1:16

16
These
are murmurers, complainers, walking after
their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh
great swelling words, having men’s persons
in admiration because of advantage.

Don’t be a murmurer.  Don’t be a complainer. Don’t walk after your own lusts.  Don’t speak flattery for the sake of gaining profit or advantage.
Jude 1:17-19

17 But, beloved, remember ye
the words which were spoken before of the
apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you
there should be mockers in the last time,
who should walk after their own ungodly
lusts.

19 These be they who separate
themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Don’t be a mocker.  Don’t walk after your own lusts.  Don’t be your own lord but make Jesus your Lord and let Jesus direct your life.  Don’t be divisive.   Don’t be worldly minded – don’t be sensual.
Jude 1:20

20
But
ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your
most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Build up yourself in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit.
Jude 1:21

21
Keep
yourselves in the love of God, looking for
the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto
eternal life.

Keep yourself in the love of God.  Obey Jesus commands of the New Testament in order to keep the love of Father and of the Son abiding in you.  Keep waiting on, keep looking out for, keep anticipating, keep looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.
Jude 1:22

22 And of some have
compassion, making a difference:

Take pity on those who are doubting.
Jude 1:23

23 And others save with fear,
pulling them out of the fire; hating even
the garment spotted by the flesh.

For others, save them out of the fire, the lake of fire with fear as in you have fear, respect so you don’t get seduced by the same sin – it can easily happen.  Tell others about the eternal brutality of Hell which will sober them up and help them break shackles that have been holding them back from repentance to God. To others have mercy with fear helping them get out of their sins while being careful about not getting seduced into the same sin you are helping someone with because it can happen if not paying attention.  Hate the sin and love the sinner.  Hate the sin and help the sinner.
Jude 1:24-25

24 Now unto him that is able
to keep you from falling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of his glory
with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our
Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and
power, both now and ever. Amen.

Turn Jesus’ help to keep you from falling.  Ask, seek, knock, ask your questions, ask for help, listen to His voice. Get His help to repent out of all of your sins. Obey His commands and produce fruit for the Kingdom in accuracy and excellence.
