Yesterday we shared on ‘Receiving answers to Prayers’ and how that receiving answers to our prayers is God’s plan for us as his children.
What father would be glad to see his children battle under challenges relentlessly and not do anything about it? The truth is that God is interested in the battles we face, the troubles we go through and he has made provision in his word for us to overcome them. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:11 if you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
There are two important principles to note as we pray. First, we pray in the name of Jesus. Whatever petitions we wish to make to our heavenly father must be made in the name of Jesus. The Lord asked us to talk with the father and make our supplications and it would be as though he were making the requests himself. We have become one with Him by virtue of his death for us.
Secondly, our prayers must be in sync with his word and his will. If we ask anything that is in line with his word, he will hear us and respond. in 1 John 5:14 the bible tells us ‘And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us’. In other words if we do not pray according to his will, he will not even hear us.
So how do I know if my prayers are according to his will or not? well, that’s simple because His will is His word. Your healing is in his word hence it is his will. Your prosperity is in his word and thus is his will. The same goes for every other challenge or battle you are faced with. look at the word and confirm that God has said something about it.
God has opened an access door for us; we must take advantage of it. Pray in his name today and pray according to his word, the result is certain.
Glory to His Holy Name.
